With a steady stream of holiday parties from Thanksgiving all the way to the New Year, I have a lot of opportunities to make delicious desserts that are truly special to share with my family and friends.  But, you know what?  Sometimes, and I know this will come as a shock, I am really busy from Thanksgiving until New Year’s.  Crazy, right? Who knew?  Sometimes, I need a little help in the kitchen.
I just learned about Miss Jones Baking Co. and am so excited about using their products as my baker’s helpers this year! Not only are their baking mixes and frostings completely and utterly drool-worthy—they’re certified organic, non-GMO, plant-based, responsibly sourced, and contain no artificial colors or flavors. They are practically guilt free!
Miss Jones Baking Co. sent me some of their spectacular fudgy brownie mix and Salted Caramel frosting to try out.  (OK…twist my arm…)
In no time flat, I was able to whip up some gooey Turtle Brownies, with the simple addition of some chopped toasted pecans on top.

The brownies were deliciously rich and fudgy, and the frosting was so light and fluffy you’d swear I’d whipped it up myself in my mixer.
(And nobody needs to know otherwise. Wink wink.)
Between November 11 and December 23, Miss Jones Baking Co. is holding the Bake-it-Better Challenge, which gives you the chance to win a Grand Prize worth over $1,500—including a $1,000 gift card, the full line of Miss Jones products, a KitchenAid Mixer, William-Sonoma Goldtouch Baking Set, Scharffen Berger Chocolates, and much more!
Plus, every entry means $1 donated to the SF-Marin Food Bank [https://www.sfmfoodbank.org/]. At this time of year, I know every little bit helps those in need—so join in the fun and make the holiday season sweeter for everyone!
It’s really easy to participate:
Step 1: Bake something fantastic using a Miss Jones baking mix or frosting. Get creative—ideas like pumpkin cake bars, chocolate and pecan cupcakes, maple and walnut sugar cookies. The Miss Jones website [www.missjones.co] has great inspiration, and using one of their mixes makes it super easy (and yummy, obviously).
Step 2: Take a photo of your beautiful treat and post it to Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #betterwithmissjones. If you’re submitting via Instagram, be sure to tag @missjonesco, too! If you’re submitting via Facebook, be sure to post your entry directly onto the official Miss Jones Baking Co. Facebook page [https://www.facebook.com/missjonesbakingco/].
That’s it. For each entry containing the hashtag #betterwithmissjones, $1 goes to the SF-Marin Food Bank—and you can enter multiple times!

Rich and Fudgy Zucchini Brownies

Rich and Fudgy Zucchini Brownies - Chew Nibble Nosh

When I was young, my mother had this wonderful little garden on the side of our house.  I used to love watching the garden grow each summer, and daily trips out to pick fresh tomatoes, snap peas and zucchini were a highlight.  I remember spending my summer days outside, playing with friends, and we’d snack on sugar snap peas, fresh from the garden, as we played. The zucchini always fascinated me, though, because there were some years when nothing would grow, and others when we’d end up with zucchini as long as our arms, that seemed to weigh as much as a small child.  My mom would make zucchini bread after zucchini bread after zucchini bread, and we’d laugh at the size of our ginormous zucchini.  They were like veggie snacks for giants.

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies - Chew Nibble Nosh.

Looking for something sweet for your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day?  These brownies are not only beautifully festive, but they are also unbelievably tasty.

I have this amazing neighbor.  She’s a wonderful friend, wonderful mom, and also a wonderful baker.  She bakes up the most delicious treats, and we’ve managed to be lucky enough to be her guinea pigs on more than one occasion.  A couple of weeks ago, she texted me asking if it was OK to send down some Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies to try.  (Did she really need to ask?  Heck yes!  Send them down!) She wanted to know if they were good enough to send in for the teachers.  We were her taste testers.  Tough job, eh?

Brrrr-ownies

Oh, the weather outside is…not so frightful.  The fire?  Not really so delightful.   In fact, the weather is terribly un-Christmassy. Does Mother Nature know that it’s December?  Does she have any idea that Christmas is just a few short weeks away?  I know I probably sound like a big Scrooge to most of you, and those of you who live up north are rolling your eyes at me because you’re enjoying the warm weather you’ve had and think I’m crazy, but I’m having a very hard time getting into the Christmas spirit when I can still break a sweat just walking to my mailbox!  Bah Humbug!

Mexican Hot Chocolate Brownies

Yesterday was just one of those days that called for a hefty dose of chocolate.  I couldn’t get away from it.  It had to happen.

I came across this recipe for Mexican Hot Chocolate Brownies a while ago and have been saving it for one of my “Ugh…ME NEED CHOCOLATE” days.  It was the perfect thing.
