Summertime means grilling time, and my friends at Red Gold Tomatoes have come up with a giveaway that I’m sure will make many grilling aficionados pretty darn excited. From now until July 22, Red Gold will be giving away a large Big Green Egg each week! A Big Green Egg!
I can’t begin to tell you how an Egg will change the way you grill. We’ve had one for the past couple of years, and trust me when I say that it does some pretty spectacular things for grilled food. My husband’s eyes light up every time I ask him to grill something, and our eyes light up every time he brings in dinner!
It’s that time of year again! Berry season! My fridge is consistently stocked with fresh berries this time of year. So, when The Daily Meal asked me if I’d like to enter their Driscoll’s Berries #RaspberryDessert recipe contest, I figured there couldn’t be a better time! Last year, they had a Strawberry Shortcake contest, and my entry was this delectable Lemon Poppyseed Strawberry Shortcake with Lemon Devonshire Cream. This year, we’re talking raspberries, my all time favorite berry, and it didn’t take long for me to figure out the dessert I was going to try.
This is my favorite time of year. The trees are blooming, the grass is green, the sun is shining, and we all would rather spend time outside than in. Springtime always seems like a wonderful gift, after a long, chilly winter, and this beautiful weather we’re having is no exception.
And, like clockwork, the warmer weather gets my husband’s grill-sense going. I had a funny feeling when I saw the weekend’s forecast that he’d want to kick his grill into gear for the season. I was right!
I know it’s just under the wire, but I wanted to sneak this post in before the month, and the contest, were up! If you’ve been following my Facebook feed, you may have noticed a contest I spoke about called Cook For Health September. It’s the brainchild of Alex and Sonja Overhiser, over at the amazing A Couple Cooks. They’ve partnered up with Green BEAN Delivery, my favorite organic produce delivery group, to help promote healthy eating and meals made with healthy, seasonal, unprocessed foods…especially in their home state, and my home state, of Indiana.
It’s a special day around here! It’s a bit of a milestone, actually. Today marks the 100th post on Chew Nibble Nosh! In honor of today, I figured I’d try something different. Instead of a recipe, I’m going to talk today about ten of my favorite kitchen gadgets that help make life, and cooking dinner, a whole lot easier. A couple of them are bigger ticket items (We’re not talking Oprah’s Favorite Things big-ticket type items. Don’t worry.), but most of them are perfectly simple, affordable items that just come in handy.
Then, after the top ten is revealed, I’ll announce a new giveaway! So, keep reading!
