I’ve screwed up.
Despite the TV specials, newspaper articles, ad leakings, endless Brothers Harbaugh interviews and all of the Super Bowl stories that have taken over sports media this week, up until yesterday, I thought that the Super Bowl was NEXT weekend. Oops. It’s not. It’s this Sunday.
I’d meant to devote an entire week on the blog to Game Day Food. Obviously, that’s not going to happen now. I’ll make my brain lapse up to you in upcoming weeks. I promise!
So, we have a change of plans. In honor of Super Bowl Sunday, I thought that, if nothing else, it might be nice to look back on Chew Nibble Nosh’s Best Game Day Recipes from days past. They are in no particular order. Each one is as yummy as the one before, and after. Hopefully, this will give you some kitchen inspiration for the big game!
This is one of my all time favorite soups, and I haven’t made it yet this winter. Hmmm…we may just be having it come Super Bowl Sunday!
Grilled Buffalo Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip
You’ve got to have wings, right?
Peanut Butter Cup Brownie Bites
A little bite of peanut buttery heaven. This frosting is killer.
Throw it in the slow cooker in the morning, and you’ve got perfect BBQ come game time.
The Perfect Winter Game Day Salad
OK, so it’s a “Winter” Salad, but it totally works for Game Day, too. It has bacon in it, so it’s really manly.
Baked Tex-Mex Pimento Cheese Dip
This ooey-gooey cheese dip rocks my world. If you haven’t tried it yet, please do. You won’t be sorry.
Need chili for the game? This one’s different, and super easy because it hangs out in the slow cooker all day!
Chocolate, toffee and potato chips. Need I say more?
After you try this, you may never go back to the soup packet again.
Mexican Hot Chocolate Brownies
A great way to finish things off. These brownies are deliciously different, with just a little bit of kick.
Happy Super Bowl Weekend!
If your team is playing, good luck! Have a great time, and be safe out there.
